I loved everything about my trip to Taipei last year. I enjoyed the sights & sounds, and most especially the food! Mind you, Vancouver has awesome Taiwanese food, but still, nothing beats the memory of taking a trip to another country and enjoying their mouth-watering street food! It’s such a gastronomic experience for sure! Yearning for Taiwanese food and reminiscing about my trip, I made my own version of Lu Rou Fan (Braised Pork Rice). I used ground pork & dried shiitake mushrooms braised in aromatics such as ginger, 5 spice, star anise, cinnamon, soy sauce and Chinese cooking wine. The sauce really is a perfect compliment to piping hot steamed rice. Ugh, my mouth is watering again just typing this post! This will do for now, until I plan my next trip to Taiwan! πŸ₯°πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ΄
